Do not buy
Smart Power Tech heat pump hot water: don't buy one.
The Federal Court wound up Smart Power Tech Pty Ltd (ACN 669 711 175) and appointed a liquidator on 14 April 2026, after a creditor's application in March. Its website is offline. Warranty claims now go to the liquidator, Jirsch Sutherland, and are unlikely to be honoured in the usual way.

Smart Power Tech heat pump hot water, for the record.
Known for Phantom and Dark Knight all-in-one heat pumps.
Not rated or ranked. On paper its products score 4.0, but with the company gone the warranty is worth little.

Our verdict
Is a Smart Power Tech heat pump right for you?
Don't buy a new SPT heat pump. The company was wound up by the Federal Court in April 2026, so there's no manufacturer left to honour the 7-year tank warranty. If you already own one, keep your paperwork and register any claim with the liquidator.
A good fit if
- You already own one and want to know where you stand
Maybe look elsewhere if
- You're being offered one now, even at a big discount
