Our verdict
Is a Tesla battery right for you?
Still one of the best home batteries you can buy: a polished all-in-one with whole-home backup, a warranty with no throughput cap for home use, and IP67 sealing. Support is by phone rather than through a dedicated local energy office.
Rated 8.1/10, #4 of 9 brands we rate for batteries.
A good fit if
- You want whole-home backup and a polished app
- You want one box with the inverter built in
Maybe look elsewhere if
- You want to expand in small steps or mix with other brands

Questions to ask your installer
- 1How much of my evening use will this cover?
- 2Does it include backup in a blackout, and for which circuits?
- 3Can I see the warranty document, including the throughput limit?
A good installer will be glad you asked, whichever brand you choose.
